Loving on a platform that teaches users how to love themselves.

Total musculoskeletal health was a concept I learned quickly as I worked with the folks at Functional Movement Systems to bring this concept to life in an easy-to-use mobile application for use in the corporate wellness space. It is designed to help users prioritize their steps to better wellness — factoring in not just how you rest, move and fuel your body — but also your unique composition, history, and mental state. Users are scored on this criteria and delivered content daily to support and engage.

Collaboration

I worked closely with the experts at FMS to mold their decades of research into an experience that users would find valuable, and from it, better understand how their interactions with the app translated to scores and steps toward personal improvement. The fruits of our labor ensured that the integrity of the research wasn’t compromised while taking steps to improve the everyday user experience. Through prototypes and testing, we were able to arrive at a solution that met everyone’s needs.

Design Approach

By introducing a focused design system, as well as custom illustrations and iconography, the new mobile application feels trust-worthy while also fostering engagement and interest. The main components of the system are neutral, providing lots of contrast and clear points of interaction by contrasting with the supporting visuals we are showcasing throughout the experience. To bring it all together we chose a font full of character to help add personality and enhance the experience. The resulting system allows the experience to always remain clean, adaptable, and engaging.
